On Zer Wagon

I’m back to dieting. The last few weeks I’ve made a little effort and in the last two I’ve made a fairly serious effort. This week I have been doing really well and the weight is starting to slide off like in the olden days. This morning I was at 207.4.

The feeling of losing weight is a really good one. Mentally it’s nice to know it’s working but physically it actually feels good. Every morning after a day without cheating I can feel changes. Even if it’s just a few ounces I’ve lost over 24 hours I feel different, and better. That helps a lot with the times when it sucks, which is pretty much all day long.
Yesterday I had a Slim Fast for breakfast, a homemade turkey sandwich for lunch and a homemade turkey sandwich for dinner. That is it. Nothing else went into my mouth except for toothpaste and water all day long.

I generally count my sandwiches at about 500 calories. They are probably actually a little less. I use two slices of bread, 1 slice of cheese, fat free turkey and a little mustard. No mayo! Two of those and my Slim Fast puts me at 1180 calories for the day. Quite a bit less than a growing boy needs! That might explain why I woke up tired after going to bed at 9:30pm last night and sleeping till 7am.

I don’t have very far to go. I want to see a number on the scale that starts with a 1 and after that I’m done. Assuming I like the way I look, at least. I’d really like to get rid of my bitch tits, and the rest of my belly but I look around at guys my age and it seems pretty common. My sense of self is totally skewed though. A lot of times when I look at myself in the mirror I see a huge, fat person. I know I’m not far from “normal” now but depending on the day I still see myself last November.

So there’s that. I’m not sure if I’ll manage to lose weight today since Courtney and I are going to go to Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner. That should be a fun test.

The Aristocrats is playing down in Westport somewhere. I can’t wait to see it. I’ve been wanting to since I heard about it back in the day. I even knew the joke already 🙂
