Well, JoLynn’s birthday party was a roaring success! There was presents, cake, drinking games, Twister, running around in the rain with no shirts on, throwing up in the side yard, lots of people and to top it all off JoLynn woke up at 11am still hammered. Success! Over the course of the night we had about 25 people come through which is pretty decent for my tiny little house. And the next morning it looked like it. Man, what a mess.
I haven’t seen any pictures from the party yet, so hopefully some will show up soon.
Sunday I went and saw Serenity with James and Courtney and loved it. Very good movie and now I am all obsessed with Firefly; the series the movie was based on. Last night I downloaded all 14 episodes, spent about 2 hours getting DivX to work on my Mac and then watched a few. I used my laptop to play the video on my TV and run the sound through the home theater system and it looked and sounded great. So that helped pass the time, and passing the time is what I am all about this week.
I am unnaturally excited for Thursday to get here, as I’ve mentioned before. And now it’s finally getting close! Tomorrow night we head off to see Coheed and Cambria in Lawrence and then early Friday morning we board the train for Sandusky, OH and roller coaster fun! It’s gonna be so great. There’s a lot of reasons to be excited about this trip, but I think one of the biggest things is just getting away for a few days. It’s been a busy, stressful year so far and break sounds really freakin’ good.
Amtrak called me last night, which sucked. As soon as they said it was Amtrak calling and asked to speak to me I figured they were calling to tell me the train was broken, or blew up or went missing or something. Not so! They just wanted to sell me a luxurious private room for the rides between Kansas City and Chicago! Tempting, but they wanted another $75 and that’s just not in the budget. So I guess we’ll be riding along with the rest of the chumps.
Ugh… 29 more hours…
